Our go to place for fast, good eats on the go. We usually skip the burger joints and prefer going here. Great selections. Not just subs and pizza. Try the gyros and the falafel. Also chicken wings. Good portions and good prices. Enjoy casual eating in or carry out to a nearby park for a picnic. We really enjoy the selection and the staff.

Pizza - decent. Crust is ok. Wings - crazy overlooked like chicken jerky. Do not order wings here.

I've been going to Solana's for over 6 years now and I love it. It's the only genuine place for subs that aren't of big franchises like subway or jimmy johns. The owner of this store is always at the cash register and he is always so kind and polite to everyone. The subs are the bomb.

Awesome chicken cheesesteak! Good fries and mozzarella sticks too. Decent salad for a sub shop. I have not tried the pizza yet. I like Solana because they have fast delivery and cover a wide delivery area so it's very convenient. It's usually the same guy who answers the phone and he takes your order very carefully and reads it back to you. I love this because I usually hate ordering over the phone...it makes me nervous if my order is taken down correctly.

First time visiting, the food was amazing and filling for the expense. First place in months that did not overcook my fish and fries and the kicker, out of 6 yrs this is the on y place between Baltimore and Atlanta that has made a Banging Connoli. #greatchoice

I do like the pizza here. I wished they delivered. The cheese is always fresh and the sauce delicious. It's a go to place when I want a solid pizza. I'm originally from NYC, so I have a strong background in really good pizza. It's not THAT good, but for Maryland and Howard County, it is as good as there is....but I'm still looking for better!

OK pizza. The falafel gyro is pretty good. Portions are good sized.

I don't know why Solana's has such a low overall rating. Solana's has, in my opinion, the best pizza in Ellicott City! We ask for ours a little well done, which may make a difference. I like my pizza with a good amount of sauce and the sauce-cheese ratio with their pizza is perfect! Seasoned with lots of flavorful herbs and spices too. Their gyros are also pretty good! I definitely recommend Solana's if you're looking for a good pizza pie.

We decided to go on a picnic today and our favorite Deli is closed on Sunday so we had to find another place for subs Solanos was a great substitute. We ordered a whole cheese steak with everything and a 1/2 Italian cold cut sub with everything. We got there just as they un locked the door and was the first customer of the day. Both subs were delicious, plenty of filling and the bread they use was delicious. Not too bready, a nice brown crusty outside. The guy that waited on me was very nice and helpful. We will definitely return for dinner or a impromptu picnic.

I am not sure of what I think of Solana Pizza & Subs. I was really psyched to try it based on the reviews I've read on other sites and personal endorsements I received from friends. I did a carry out order of cheese steak and fries. When I got home (only 6 minutes away), the fries were only warm. They also tasted plain. My sub was OK, but not great. One thing I did really appreciate is the service. The counter guy called me by my name and even thanked me by my name after I paid and was walking out. I dig that. Not enough places do that anymore despite them having your name from the carry out order. Such simple gestures leave a good impression with me. I will give this place another shot but I will order something different. They must have good food because of the way people rave about them. Perhaps my expectations were too high or their cheese steaks are not that good. I was happy enough to give them another shot. If my experience is different, I will update this review with my findings.

Suggested this place to my wife before we hit Inner Harbor. I saw a recommendation on Yelp for the lamb gyro. I usually don't (ok..never) order gyros but the wife is the "Queen of the Gyros". She likes a certain type of pita, meat and sauce. If something isn't right, she will let you know. The wife ordered the gyro (lamb) and a side of fries. The Verdict... She loved it!!! According to her, the crispy fries were great too. The one thing that was a big plus is she could not finish it. She had leftovers for the next day. OMG !!! This was the first gyro that I know of that she could not finish. Most gyros she orders are good but the size and the ingredients are smaller. They are also the same price or more expensive. The waitstaff and/or owners were very friendly while waiting for the order. They treated us like we were regular local customers instead of strangers. We will be definately coming back !!! Who knows? Maybe I'll actually order a gyro...

We enjoy this place overall, and since we're not thrilled with most choices along this stretch of route 40, we will happily stop here when hungry and in the area. The pizza is pretty good and always comes out piping hot. The fries are usually great, cooked perfectly with an outside crunch and an inside softness. (However, last time they were overcooked). The service is very friendly. It's good to see the same people working there over the years. On the down side. There are no free refills on the fountain soda (though, getting a large and then a refill is still probably cheaper than most restaurant soda). They give you a single paper plate which doesn't work with oily pizza. Their plastic knives are too flimsy and usually mangle the pizza. It also could use a renovation, especially the access to the bathrooms.

This place has a terrible name. I thought for years that it was a tanning salon. Then a neighbor treated me to lunch there. It is solid. Really, really great freshly made gyros. Decent pizza. Always crunchy and hot french fries. When I'm close by and hungry, this is my spot for a quick lunch. Update- two years have gone by since I wrote the above. I am upgrading this to 5 stars. This has become among my families top 3 places to eat. It's quick, the food is always very good, and every time I get a lamb gyro I remember that I'd forgotten how good they are. On top of this it's very inexpensive. This is where a lot of locals go for lunch. Try it and you will see why. Go, try it, it's great.

Excellent food. Subs, pizza, wings and all the food is made fresh and tastes delicious! Owners are very friendly and will usually remember you by name.
